FIELD COORDINATOR

Field Coordinators (FCs) are an integral part of LiNK’s mission, working on the ground and providing direct assistance to North Korean refugees in their journey to freedom. Once refugees arrive safely in Southeast Asia, FCs are responsible for caring for their basic needs, administering intake interviews, providing critical resettlement information, and helping them to prepare for processing. This position requires a well-rounded candidate with various skill sets in addition to being flexible and adaptable due to the constantly-evolving nature of the situation on the ground. This is a unique, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to work on the frontlines and to meet many of the people firsthand who are behind the inspiring stories of escape, survival, and new beginnings.

Responsibilities



In order to meet the North Korean refugees, you will:
Prepare supplies, transportation, and equipment necessary for a successful mission.
Communicate with newly arrived individuals, and devise a strategy to locate them.
Locate and drive them to a safe location.





After bringing the individuals to a safe location, you will:
Care for them and provide rest, food, and other essentials.
Introduce LiNK, explain relevant resettlement processes, and answer questions.
Conduct intake interviews.
Prepare them for the remainder of their processing.





When not on a mission, you will:
Organize and secure information gathered during missions.
Conduct mission reconnaissance.
Manage mission finances.
Collaborate with HQ to gather and provide content for updates from the field.
Collaborate with the US and ROK office to improve field documents and procedures.
Follow up with resettled North Koreans to perform quality control on their stay in Southeast Asia.



Qualifications


Dedication to and understanding of LiNK’s mission
Honesty, motivation, a good work ethic and attitude
Strong project management skills
Excellent communication skills
Critical thinking ability
Flexibility, an open mind, and teachability
Rational, calm decision-making skills, ability to think and respond quickly in a crisis
Ability to work effectively in a team
Advanced knowledge in technology (preferred)



Experience & Education


English and Korean language fluency — reading, writing, and conversation
At least five years driving experience with a good driving record






Experience with Google Apps and smartphone operating systems
Strong understanding of the North Korea issue and relevant issues regarding North Korean refugees


JOB LOGISTICS AND BENEFITS





Minimum commitment of 18 months is required (this includes training).
